A resource for families
The Anni Azzurri Residences were developed to provide an effective solution to a growing requirement of modern
society: that of providing care to the elderly.
In Italy, as in the rest of Europe and other industrialised countries, people now live longer. This means that people
are more exposed to the effects of time, to degenerative illnesses, to the ailments associated with old age.
Furthermore, the pace of life and the structure of the modern family do not always allow us to look after our
elderly, particularly those who are no longer self-sufficient, or continuously cater for all their requirements:
medical care, day-to-day assistance, psychological and relational needs.
Yet, the demographic forecasts leave no room for doubt: the elderly population will continue to grow and
represent, in the next few years, a greater percentage of Italian society as a whole. In January 2010 , people of
65 years and above already represented 20,2% of the Italian population. According to estimates, this figure
will rise to over 26% by 2027.
To meet the challenge of the future, we need operators that are able to develop specific areas of
excellence, that recognise the importance of people, and that can respond in timely fashion to the
needs of the community.
This is our vision. This is why we have developed over 40 skilled nursing homes and why, every day, we seek to
provide assistance to senior citizens and their families.
