Board of Directors


Claudio Stabon – Chairman of the Board of Directors
Claudio Stabon has been Head of Investments for CIR since 1998.
He contributed to the creation of KOS, of which he has been Chairman since 2008.
From 1989 to 1998 he was a Vice President with Bain & Co., working for the Milan and Boston offices as officer in charge of the M&A and Private Equity businesses.
Prior to that, he worked for McKinsey (Milan) and for Westinghouse & Co. (Pittsburgh, USA).
Claudio Stabon graduated from the University of Genoa in Electronic Engineering in 1983 and was awarded an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1987.
He is married with three children and active in non-profit organizations for the children of the world.

Giuseppe Vailati Venturi – CEO
Giuseppe Vailati Venturi contributed to the creation of KOS, and has been CEO since 2007.
From 2001 to 2003 he was Corporate Development Director of CIR S.p.A, following the company’s direct investments and the acquisitions made by its subsidiaries.
Prior to this he worked at Bain & Co. as a consultant in the company’s Milan office, working on different industrial projects and assisting in M&A transactions.
He graduated in Business Economics in 1994 from L. Bocconi University in Milan, and in 1998 he obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration from Insead (France).

Angelo Carenzi – Vice President
Now President of Fondazione Istituto Insubrico di Ricerca per la Vita in Gerenzano (Varese) where he promotes and supports the medical scientific and biotechnological research on the Insubria territory and manages its BioPark.
From 2003 to 2007, Angelo Carenzi has been Director of CEFASS-EIPA and President of the Ethics Committee of Ateneo Milano Bicocca.
He also seats at the Scientific Technical Committee of the Work, Education and Training Department of Regione Lombardia from 2003 to 2005. Before that, General Director of some public Hospitals in Lombardia.
He is the author of 76 medical-scientific publications on international and national magazines and wrote a lot of articles related to health policy.
He has been member of the National Commission for Drug Authorization and of the Regional Commission for Continuous Medical Education.
Angelo Carenzi gratuaded in medicine and surgery at the University of Milano on 1970.

Andrea Bergalio
Since February 2004, Andrea Bergalio has been Group Controller in the Planning and Control Department of CIR.
He is a Member of the Board of Directors at KOS and is also a Member of the Surveillance Body of Sorgenia and KOS.
His professional experience has principally been focused on operational planning and management control in the telecommunications sector where, from 1993 until 2004, he held positions of responsibility at leading Italian operators such as Telecom Italia, Wind Telecomunicazioni and Edisontel.
He graduated in Business and Economics from the University of Genoa in 1992.

Yann Chareton
Senior Investment Manager in the AXA Private Equity’s Mid Cap LBO team in Milan.
Over the last years, he has notably been involved in deals related to Camaïeu (French leading womens’ wear retailer) and the TLD group (world leader in ground support equipment for airlines, airport and ground handlers).
He also seats at the supervisory board and the audit committee of Mersen (listed on the Paris stock exchange), global expert in materials and solutions for extreme environments as well as in the safety and reliability of electrical equipment.
After graduating from the IEP in Paris in 2000 and from the ESSEC business school in 2002, Yann Chareton studied at the London School of Economics and the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan.

Edoardo De Benedetti
Actually MD specialized in cardiology, chief of the cardiac cath-lab in La Tour Hospital in Meyrin (Switzerland).
After his medical school at the University of Geneva where he graduated in 1991, he finished his training in cardiology in 1995 at the University Hospital of Geneva. From 1999 he began his training in interventional cardiology at the University Hospital in Lausanne
Thanks to a research grant he moved one year to Paris at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), and was also working as interventional cardiologist at the Hôpital Bichat-Claude Bernard.
Back in Switzerland in 2002, he opened his private practice and was in charge of the cath-lab in La Tour Hospital in Meyrin near Geneva.
From 2003 he participated to several humanitarian missions in Sarajevo (Bosnia), Tbilissi (Georgia) and Djakove (Kossovo).
He is the author of numerous articles published in various specialized magazines in the cardiovascular medicine.

Nicolò Saidelli
He joined AXA Private Equity in October 2008 as a Director within the LBO Mid-Cap team with the responsibility of the Italian Investments based in Milan.
Prior to joining AXA Private Equity, he worked since 2003 within the L Capital fund as a Partner and Manager of the Italian office. He also worked within GE Equity Italia, Salomon Smith Barney, Lehman Brothers, the Richemont Group, Canal Plus and Olivetti Group. Nicolò is graduated in Management Engineering at the Genoa University.
