KOS has been operational since 2003 and is slowly but surely expanding its presence in various areas of the health and assistance sector in Italy through:

KOS seeks to invest in chronic care (healthcare, psychiatric, and rehabilitation residences, residences for the disabled), the management of highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic technology in public and private hospitals (MRI, PET, Accelerators, proton therapy centres) and in public tenders for the management of hospitals.
KOS operates via a number of special companies in its various areas of activity: the Residenze Anni Azzurri for the socio-medical assistance for the elderly, the Istituto di Riabilitazione S.Stefano in the rehabilitation area and Redancia in psychiatry, Medipass in the provision of high technology services for hospitals. It also operates in the area of medicine for acute care through an experimental management project with Ospedale di Suzzara. It is present in seven regions of North and Central Italy: Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino, Emilia Romagna and Marche.
The company is controlled by C.I.R. – Compagnie Industriali Riunite S.p.A. (www.cirgroup.it), which intends to develop and support over time a new and relevant industrial initiative.
